To My Son I Never Had

I never tried to be your Mother
Cause you had one of your own
But I always tried to be there
When you were scared and all alone

I tried to be there for you
When you needed a helping hand
I did the best that I could do
Till you grew to be a man

You will find that lifes not easy
So this advice I give to you
Put God first in your life
The rest will come to you

Your life will soon be changing
And you will take a wife
I pray that you both will be happy
Cherish each other for life

God's Color Scheme

You ever think about the colors
God put upon this earth...
The colors he decided to use
When he gave his creation birth

Mostly green for the grass and leaves
Brilliant blue for the sky above
Shades of brown to accent the trees
Then he touched it with his love

The tiny grains of perfect sand
With various shades of gray
Ever notice when walking barefoot...
How it can chase the blues away

Water so clean, it appears clear green
The lakes are the clearest of waters
You can see the fish swim - to five feet within
Till leaves fall to it in Autumn

Then the colors God chose - for Autumns fall show
The brilliance of reds, orange and yellow
My mind is at ease - I feel his sweet peace...
God's beauty helps me to feel mellow

Winter Barn Scene

This is one of my paintings.

West Virginia Morning

Fog reaches toward the mountain tops
On their way to a brand new day
The sun is rising in the East
Slowly burning the fog away

A beautiful sight to behold
As the two of them shall meet
Outlining the layers of mountains
As the fog rises up between

There is no beauty like the morning sun
When it peaks up ore' the hills
Just like a smile from an old friend
It gives my heart a thrill

The clouds are slowly rolling by
Giving way to clear blue sky
As once again a new day dawns
Touched by the hands of God
